Biography – Mary Beecher

Mary grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mary graduated from Dublin High School in 1976. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before graduating from Cal State University, Hayward in 1981. Mary received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Option.

Her professional career began in 1981 as an Accounting Supervisor for McDonald’s Corporation. Mary was responsible for the financial aspects of 72 restaurants in 2 western regions. Following McDonald’s, she has been associated with American Home Shield Corporation in Dublin, CA where she was the Assistant to the Controller.

Mary moved to San Diego in 1986. She was the Accounting Manager at Frazee Industries, a large local paint and wallcovering company. Following Frazee, Mary worked with Emerald Systems, a PC tape backup hardware and software supplier. After Emerald, she was the Controller for Jillson Distributors, a food distribution company that supplied grocery items to the military Exchange’s in the western United States. Mary moved on to become the Controller for the San Diego region of Budget Rent-a-Car, a franchisee of the nationwide company. Mary then went on to become the Controller of Petersen Membership clubs. Petersen provides a membership club for car enthusiasts. They provide benefits for readers of Motor Trend, Hot Rod, and Sportsman magazines.

Mary then became the Vice President/Controller for ProfitLine. ProfitLine helps businesses identify the best pricing strategies and negotiate the best contract terms for long distance and other telecommunications services. They are a full service telecommunications consulting and telemanagement firm offering a complete range of services from strategic planning and project management to contract negotiations and bill auditing.

In 2001 Mary started Beecher Consulting with the goal of being able to assist small businesses with their accounting needs and be the liason between the business and their CPA.

Mary makes her home in San Diego with her husband, Tony. Both have been involved with many fund raising committees, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Big Sisters. Both have also been founding members of two southern California car enthusiast clubs.

Biography – Tony Beecher

Tony Beecher has 12 years experience in the home furnishings and consumer electronics, and over 25 years in the software development industry and technology. Tony has worked closely with the leaders in these industries to develop a clear understanding of these industries.

From March 1999 to present, Tony has been running the Beecher Web Labs consulting group. This company specializes in helping small businesses with their technology needs. This group also performs computer consulting specializing in WordPress websites, networking, security, and search engine optimization. During this period, Tony’s largest client was A-Z Media Group where he acted as their VP of Technology.

From 1986 to 1999, Tony worked at GERS Retail Systems. GERS, located in San Diego, is an award-winning company specializing in computer systems for the retail industry. These systems included department stores, men’s and women’s apparel, specialty hardlines, home furnishings, consumer electronics and wireless retailers. Tony served in various positions including; Marketing Support, Training Specialist, Quality Control Manager, and Product Manager. Tony was instrumental in the design, development, quality control, and implementation of three generations of GERS software products.

From 1984 to 1986, Tony worked for a large home furnishings business with stores throughout California. Tony held positions including; Customer Relations Manager, Store Manager, and Store Operations Manager. Tony was responsible for the daily operations of 14 stores in the San Francisco Bay Area.

From 1982 to 1984, Tony was a partner in a warehousing, wholesale distribution, and advertising firm specializing in the retail home furnishings industry.

From 1975 to 1982, Tony worked in a family-owned home furnishings business. Tony held positions including; Warehouseperson, Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, Buyer, Store Manager, and General Manager.

Tony makes his home in San Diego with his wife, Mary. Both have been involved with many fund-raising committees, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Big Sisters League. Both have also been founding members of two southern California car enthusiast clubs.
